Andreas Kyprianou (Bath) and Juan Carlos Pardo (CIMAT) have been awarded a prestigious Royal Society Newton Advanced Fellowship, enabling collaboration between their respective research groups over three years.
The award provides substantial funds to allow travel of members of members of the probability research group in CIMAT and members of Prob-L@B in Bath. Research will be focused on three themes:
Theme 1: Self-similarity
Theme 2: continuous-state branching processes in random environment
Theme 3: super-Markov chains
Embedded in this funding is support for three BUC workshops on different probabilistic themes. As part of the project, Kyprianou and Pardo will work on a book project, providing a modern treatment of stable processes.
